Valentine’s Day is Nearly Here…

…with that thought in mind, I have created a list of 10 ways that you can show love and compassion, not only to your special loved one but out into your community and the Universe.

1. Tell a loved one that you love them
Yes this one seems obvious however we are often too busy to tell the people closest to us how much we care.

2. Give a loved one a rose quartz crystal to carry in their pocket
By carrying around a rose quartz crystal the vibrations from the crystal will connect with the person carrying it, inducing feelings of love and compassion towards others.

3. Love Nature
Take some time to notice the beauty all around you. Even if you live in a busy city, open your eyes and look around. You will find that even under the most difficult of environments nature will thrive, plants and flowers will grow. Have a look and see for yourself.

4. Give to charity
Even if you already give to charity, use this special day to make a little extra contribution. When we give to a good cause, we feel better ourselves. This is due to the feelings that we expand out to the Universe from the Heart Chakra.

5. Help a friend
The Reiki Precepts encourage us to be compassionate towards ourselves and other and what better way to do this than to help a friend.
Take the time to help someone close to you. This could be by taking the time to listen to them if they are unhappy or worried or even by helping them out with a few chores which have got on top of them.

6. Offer compliments to others
Connect with others by offering genuine compliments from the heart. In this way you are expanding positive energy out into the Universe .The positive vibrations from the words that you speak make you feel great too.

7. Send a card
We are all used to receiving text messages and emails but when was the last time that you sent a card? You don’t have to wait for a special occasion, how about sending a funny card to a close friend? Imagine the smile on their face!

8. Visit a person in need
Perhaps you know a lonely, elderly person or someone who has health issues and lives alone. Why not visit them and bring a little joy into their lives?

9. Be kind to yourself and others
Okay, so this is not completely my idea but one of the Reiki Precepts. Can you imagine how much better all of our lives would be if we all accepted this precept?
When we show kindness to others we become less angry. Many of the small things in life that challenge us on a daily basis would just melt away. If we accidentally bump into someone and say we are sorry then the anger melts away. If we are driving and we are cut up by someone and they hold their hands up to say that they are sorry then the anger melts way. Just for today do not anger (another aspect of the Reiki Precepts) and if you follow this rule then in a very short time you will feel much better and you will be healthier too.

10. Keep these written words in your heart
Don’t just read this blog but take action. Keep these words in your heart and take action NOW!!!

Happy Valentine’s Day
